Sigapore Local Transportation
Looking at Singapore on a map seems like this little tiny country at the tip of Malaysia, but it does have a few different options to get around it. The biggest tip I can give you if you’re looking for convenience when getting around is to download the Uber or Grab taxi app. These taxi services will be about half the price of a regular taxi. The drivers also speak great English and will tell you some of the spots to be when there. Here is a link to $20 off your first Uber ride on us.
Here are examples of a couple of our rides with Uber:
Airport to Hotel (20 min) $9 USD
Hotel to Downtown (15 min) $6 USD
Singapore Also has some great local transportation.
Airport to hotel (40min) $5USD
Hotel to Downtown (30min) $5USD
How do I get from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur?
I would highly suggest taking the bus that departs from the downtown area. It only cost us like $20 per person in a chartered bus. The bus takes about 4 hours to get to Kuala Lumpur. To fly you would have to get to the airport 2 hours early, then fly 1 hour, and get from the airport to downtown Kuala Lumpur, for a total of 4 hours. These buses take off about 3 different times during the day and you have an assigned seat. Make sure when buying your ticket you book the correct bus stop in Kuala Lumpur that is closest to your hotel (3 stops). Buy your tickets online here. Yes, you can bring your huge bag and what ever else you want at no charge (we did).
